Baby Names with Alternative Spellings

My Mom posted this on Facebook the other day. I thought it was pretty funny and worth sharing.

These are legitimate names in Utah. Maybe because Utahns are having more children than the average family in the U.S. of A. they want to get more creative with their names. 

 A friend of mine in Arizona though, just had a baby girl named (Eliza) but she spells it: Ylayza.
Because of her Spanish heritage I could figure out how the name was pronounced - but it sure is different.

 I think names should be easy to spell and obvious - I know, even I come up with some different names but I usually like to stick with an easy way to spell it. But that's just me.

 If I could do one thing different, I would go back in time and change the spelling of Kailea's name. People are pronouncing it wrong all the time. And we specifically chose this spelling so it would be easier for the Dutch to pronounce and they are the ones pronouncing it wrong all the time. If I could change it, I would make it Kyleah. In some countries it's not too difficult to make a change of name in court. In this country, I don't see the point in it. My child just has to correct people all the time. That's life.

I have a 2yo named Charleigh. It's pronounced Charlie, as in Brown. But people call her Sharlie and Sharlay and Charlay. It's terrible. I still really like the spelling, but I'm not sure I chose rightly.

I read your blog Brandee and I have to say that I always pronounced it Charlay in my mind as well. Now i will try to relearn it to myself :)

The BEST REAL Peanut Butter Cookies

Gooey in the middle and crispy on the outside, just the way a cookie should be! I discovered this recipe some years ago. I used to bake it nearly every month, that's how good it is. I've tried many, many peanut butter cookie recipes and this is the best by far! You don't really need to add chocolate chips... but I just happen to get a bag full of goodies from a lady who bought all these baking supplies - American style baking supplies - from the BX, and the stuff she didn't use up before she moved back to the U.S. - was gifted to me. Baby Name: Kenobi (boy)

So, I'm pregnant, I think I've already announced that somewhere... but anyway, it's a boy! My first one. I already have three girls. I thought for sure it would be another girl but then this pregnancy was very different. For one, I didn't have the same disdain for garlic and onions that I did with the other pregnancies... and two, I have more hair growing on my legs... it completely stopped growing for 9 months with the girls. That's a bonus to having girls... but the bonus for having a boy is I can still eat whatever I want and not feel sick. It's kind of a disadvantage though - because then I really have to monitor myself - so I don't get too fat. Why is choosing a baby name so difficult?
